Other than that I'm a bit busy with Christmas stuff and work. Nothing new in the art front. Well, I've been doing some spooty comics on my lunch breaks, but they've been coming out below even my very low standards, so I doubt I'll be posting them.

I survived Black Friday, yay! But omg, my shoes were killing me. >< So now I have to blow a paycheck on some comfortable, supportive, nice looking dress shoes (does that even exist?), and if you wear a size 11-12 like I do, you know shoe shopping in general is a nightmare. But I need something ASAP, since I've been told I'll be going up to 30 hours a week on Monday.

I like working in the department I'm in though.

It's also pretty interesting seeing so many faces in a day. I've been 'mentally sketching' as many people as I can throughout my shifts, studying their defining facial features or how they move when things get slow since I haven't managed to draw during breaks yet.

I did draw 6 different Orion tattoo designs for my cousin, but I forgot to scan them and gave them to her already. -_-;

Oh well, hopefully I'll get some art in here soon.

So let's have a contest and see who can come up with some Totally Outrageous re-designs!! Woohoo!




The Contest
Choose a character to redesign in a 2010 modern way including default concert attire, non-concert attire, and evening wear. It is a show about Glamour, Glitter, Fashion & Fame after all. Model sheet style, with one full body view of the character and two alternate outfits on mannequins or loose sketches, is fine. Don't be overwhelmed with the fashion aspect of it or anything.

The Rules
Up to 5 entries per person. Each entry must be of a single character. All entries must be family friendly.
The Deadline
January 20th, 2010 so that there's plenty of time to do your holiday things and to get the word out about the contest. Entries will be posted as they are received, but voting will not begin until January 21st.
The Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, voter's choice and honorable mentions - To Be Announced.
Suggestions welcome, depending on how my cash situation is after the holidays I could maybe offer buttons be made of the winning artwork, DA subscriptions, art supplies... what strikes your fancy Jem Lovers?
Judging
If you'd like to be a judge, send me a note. Being a judge will disqualify you from prizes, but will not stop you from entering.
Best possible score is 100, score break down is as follows:
Strength of Design (up to 50 points).
Character Recognition (up to 20 points). If we can't tell who it is, it kind of defeats the point...
Creativity (up to 20 points). Self-explanatory I hope.
Presentation (Up to 10 points). No doodles on the side of your homework entries, please. You've got plenty of time, make it look pretty. ^_~
The entry with the highest combined total will be crowned winner.
